About the Artist Chris
(owner and coffee fuelled artist)
The Art-Lounge came into being from my love of graphic design and all that it encompasses – from the abstract geometric to the ever popular geek culture. I started out making designs for myself with nothing more in mind other than they just looked pretty cool. As time went on, interest grew from people, especially in the geeky side of things and I realized that an awful lot of people shared the same love as me.
So fast forwarding to today, you’ll find a growing variety of high quality prints to suit your style and which also come at an affordable price too.
The Art-Lounge was launched in 2015 bringing together all of my graphic artwork under one roof. Formally my designs were known as ‘Dirty Great Pixels’, where I specialised in geek, movie, TV, gaming and sci-fi posters and prints. My modern art and abstract designs were known as ‘Abstractika’, and now as my portfolio grows, I’ve combined everything into one handy store, ‘The Art-Lounge’.
The printing process
All the prints are made using high quality materials. The paper used for all the prints is Epson’s premium grade 251 gsm semi-gloss paper which delivers a great compromise between the flat matt and the ultra shiny gloss types. Onto this base goes the ink, and no corners are cut here either. Using Epson’s archival gallery grade pigment inks ensures the image stays true for a lifetime when framed.
For the love of it all
Aside from designing the images, the main priority is customer satisfaction. Every print is carefully checked and handled in a way that leaves the printed surface pristine in condition.
Great care and attention is used when preparing your prints for their journey. For the larger sized prints (11×14 Inch, A3 and 13×19 Inch), they will be carefully rolled inside acid free tissue paper and then placed inside a large diameter postal tube which minimizes the amount of rolling needed. The end caps are then specially stapled and hand bent to ensure your order is safe and secure whilst in transit. All our tubes and end caps are made from recycled cardboard/plastic and as such are fully recyclable again once you have no need for them.
For the smaller sized prints (7×5 Inch, 8×10 Inch and A4), they will be carefully wrapped, again in acid free tissue paper and then placed inside a triple strengthened flat rigid mailer to ensure they stay flat.
All orders are printed on demand so you’ll get a freshly made product every time. After you have placed an order, your print/s will be despatched within 2-3 working days and sent via Royal Mail’s ‘Second Class Signed For’ service which will require a signature. If your not available to take the goods, then it’s no problem as they’ll be taken back to your local Post Office collection office where you can collect them at your leisure.
Thanks and enjoy browsing the site.
